Scholarships entitle awarded candidates free entry into some of the significant career development opportunities created by the Logistics Institute of New Zealand.

Application Guidelines

The Logistics Institute of New Zealand invites ambitious logistics, operations and supply chain professionals to apply for our career development scholarships. This opportunity is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to advance your career and contribute to the economic growth of the Pacific region, including New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Pacific Island Forum nations.

We seek high-calibre individuals with the potential to become leading industry experts. To apply, please submit a one-page document outlining your current role, career aspirations, and reasons for seeking this scholarship.

Recognising the demands of your job, we understand that participation in the program may require some flexibility from your employer. Therefore, your application should include a commitment from your employer confirming their support towards your development.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be currently employed in a full-time supply chain, operations or logistics role,
  • Reside in one of the eligible countries mentioned above,
  • Provide accurate and sufficient information in the application, and
  • Be under 38 years old.

Although smaller scholarship opportunities may be created, you will first be considered for one of the flagship programmes of the Logistics Institute of New Zealand.

We wish to state categorically that scholarship awards are 100% free with no hidden costs, such as additional registration fees, booking fees, etc. The Institute reserves the right to decline applications without providing an explanation. Due to limited scholarship availability, we will strive to distribute opportunities equitably among eligible candidates.

Selection Process

The Logistics Institute of New Zealand may appoint a selection panel to evaluate applications. The panel’s decision is final.


Scholarship Acceptance and Commencement

Successful applicants must accept the scholarship offer within three months of notification. Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of the scholarship offer.

Data Collection and Communication

These Terms and Conditions govern the collection, use, storage, and processing of personal information provided by scholarship applicants (“Applicants”) to The Logistics Institute of New Zealand (“we,” “us,” “our”).

  • By submitting an application, Applicants agree to these Terms and Conditions.
  • We collect personal information directly from Applicants, including but not limited to:
    • Full name
    • Contact details (email, phone, address)
    • Date of birth
    • Educational history
    • Employment history
    • Financial information relevant to the scholarship application
  • This information is collected for evaluating scholarship applications, communicating with Applicants, and administering scholarships.

By submitting an application, Applicants consent to the collection, use, storage, and processing of their personal information as outlined in these Terms and Conditions.

  • Applicants may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us in writing, understanding that this may affect their eligibility for scholarships.
  • We use the collected information to:
    • Process and evaluate scholarship applications
    • Communicate with Applicants about their application status
    • Administer awarded scholarships
    • Conduct research and statistical analysis (in anonymized form)
    • Keep candidates informed of future opportunities
  • We will not use the information for any purpose incompatible with these stated purposes without obtaining additional consent.
  • We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
  • Personal information is stored securely by Microsoft datacenters located in in different geographies.
  • We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by applicable laws.
  • We do not sell, rent, or lease personal information to third parties.
  • Any third parties with whom we share information are contractually obligated to maintain its confidentiality and security.
  • Personal information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries other than the Applicant’s country of residence.
  • By providing personal information, Applicants consent to this transfer, storing, or processing.
  • We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that personal information is treated securely and in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and applicable data protection laws.
  • Applicants have the right to:
    • Access their personal information
    • Request correction of inaccurate information
    • Request deletion of their information, subject to our legal obligations
    • Object to or restrict certain processing activities
    • Data portability, where applicable
  • To exercise these rights, Applicants should contact the Director of Training and Advanced Studies.
  • We retain personal information for three years after the completion of the scholarship application process.
  • After this period, personal information will be securely deleted or anonymized, unless we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.
  • We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time.
  • Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website.
  • Continued use of our services after any such changes shall constitute consent to such changes.

We aim to comply with all applicable data protection and privacy laws, including but not limited to:

New Zealand: Privacy Act 2020

Australia: Privacy Act 1988

Indonesia: Law Number 11 of 2008 on Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE Law)

Vietnam: Law on Cybersecurity 2018

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand.

Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.
